Lucie Aboegla
Curatorial Representative | Specialist in Contemporary Czech Glass Art | Founder of Domus Artis (Contemporary Czech Glass Art Platform)
Lucie Aboegla works at the intersection of curatorial representation, cultural mediation, and professional consignment of contemporary Czech glass art. Her practice is rooted in a deep, long-standing engagement with glass as a sculptural medium and in a commitment to presenting the legacy of the Czech glass school within new cultural contexts.
What began as a personal fascination with the material qualities of glass, its relationship to light, structure, and precision, evolved into a focused professional mission: to introduce museum-grade Czech studio glass sculpture to audiences, institutions, and collectors in the Middle East, particularly within the cultural landscape of the United Arab Emirates.
The Czech glass tradition occupies a singular position in the history of modern art. Across generations, artists transformed glass from a craft practice into a recognised sculptural discipline, developing techniques and artistic languages that are internationally respected. Yet many of these artists remain little known in this region. Lucie’s work is therefore not centred on commercial promotion, but on contextual presentation — creating awareness, understanding, and informed appreciation of this important artistic lineage.
The intention is not simply to display artworks, but to represent artists through their works in a meaningful and professional way. The website guides visitors through each artist’s practice—outlining their education, technique, sources of inspiration, and exhibition history—while also presenting carefully selected masterworks that are available for acquisition. Each glass piece offered here is either unique or produced in a strictly limited edition, signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. In this way, the platform serves both as a cultural introduction and as a place where collectors can engage directly with significant contemporary works.
Alongside contemporary glass, the platform also includes porcelain masterworks, with particular attention to artists associated with the historic Meissen porcelain atelier. These works reflect the same principles of artistic heritage, craftsmanship, and authenticity. In addition, a selection of collectible design objects is presented—handcrafted pieces produced in limited numbers or as singular works, with the possibility of bespoke creation.
A significant element of this platform is the journal section, where reflections on glass and porcelain art, documentation of exhibitions, artist presentations, and collaborations with galleries are shared. This space contributes to a deeper understanding of the artistic context surrounding the works and reinforces the educational aspect of the platform.
The overall vision is to build a thoughtful bridge between European artistic heritage and the Middle Eastern audience—positioning glass and porcelain as serious artistic media, supporting artists through professional representation, and creating a platform where their work can be understood, valued, and collected with confidence.
