František Jungvirt is a contemporary Czech glass artist based in Prague, whose work is rooted in glass painting and surface experimentation. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) in the glass studio of Rony Plesl, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional techniques while pursuing a distinctly contemporary artistic language.
Jungvirt’s practice is characterized by an innovative approach to glass painting and enameling, combining classical hand techniques with experimental methods such as airbrushing and the development of non-fired and fluorescent paints. Color and surface play a central role in his work, transforming glass into an expressive, pictorial medium rather than a purely sculptural form.
His artworks reinterpret Czech glass heritage through contemporary gesture, often juxtaposing meticulous craftsmanship with bold, spontaneous interventions. Jungvirt’s work has been exhibited internationally, including presentations in Milan, and is represented in major Czech public collections such as the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. His practice occupies a distinctive position within contemporary glass art, where tradition, experimentation, and visual intensity converge.
A daring fusion of couture and craftsmanship, Veruschka is a striking sculptural piece that redefines the relationship between glass and textile. Part of the Fashion Glass Collection, created by talented Czech glass artist František Jungvirt in collaboration with another well-known Czech fashion designer Barbora Kotěšovcová, this two-part artwork reinterprets the supermodels of the ‘80s and ‘90s, capturing their pose, fabric, and attitude in a bold artistic statement.
By weaving and repurposing past designs, the piece explores themes of recycling and transformation, merging soft textiles with the rigid permanence of glass. The result is an avant-garde interplay of exaggeration, wit, and elegance, blurring the boundaries between fashion, sculpture, and material innovation.
Handcrafted in the renowned glass studio of Martin Štefánek, in the Czech Republic, Veruschka is a true collector’s piece—a dialogue between fleeting trends and timeless artistry.
