DESCRIPTION
Rooted in a tradition that began as early as 1713, this contemporary Meissen chess set is a timeless homage to the origins of the game and to the artistry of Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactory. Reimagined by Maria Walther and Maximilian Hagstotz, the 2024 Edition unites history and modern design with striking elegance.
Each piece pairs dark matte Böttger Stoneware — the first material ever perfected at Meissen — against gleaming white porcelain, symbolizing the dialogue between heritage and innovation. Subtle gilded accents highlight the refined silhouettes, while every figure bears Meissen’s iconic Crossed Swords in delicate relief.
